MESOTHELIOMA

Mesothelioma is a rare cancer in the thin layer of cells lining the internal organs which is known as mesothelium . Three types of mesothelioma are recognized until now .
1. Pleural mesothelioma is the most common form of the disease, representing approximately 70% of cases occur in the lining of the lungs, known as the pleura.
2. Peritoneal mesothelioma occurs in the lining of the abdominal cavity, known as the peritoneum.
3.  pericardium mesothelioma originates in the pericardium, which surrounds the heart.
A person may be at risk of developing mesothelioma, if he or she is exposed to asbestos at work or at home. Mesothelioma is caused by the inhalation of asbestos or asbestos particles. In most cases, the symptoms of mesothelioma do not occur in an individual exposed to asbestos until many years after inhalation. Those experiencing the above symptoms should consult a physician who is experience in diagnosis of mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is diagnosed earlier, more likely its symptoms can be analyzed in early stages. Treatment of mesothelioma should be possible only during the earlier stages of recognizing the symptoms.
